March - April. 2009 Dear Florida Power Club Members: Enclosed is your new copy of the Florida Power Club Reporter for March & April 2009. Thank you to everyone who attended our Florida Power Club Annual Meeting on February 28th. The new Board of Directors was installed and our Florida Power Club website has been updated to reflect the changes. The Doubletree had very delicious food and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. In this Reporter, we have some great events we are sure you will enjoy!! The first and most popular event requested is the BUSCH GARDENS event. This year they are not offering a corporate night so we would like to make available the Busch Gardens 2009 FUN CARD. There are no black- out dates and it is good until December 31, 2009. We are also very excited to tell you that the Bahama’s Cruise has 26 people attending and will surely be a great time sailing on May 8th. Call Barry Russo at Clearwater Cruises 9727) 573-2883 to sign up – there might still be a cabin or two available. This year also marks the return of the Derby Club at Derby Lane. This event wasn’t available to us last year. The buffet has returned to the Derby Club and our date is Thursday, April 23rd. Please note: there are only 42 seats available for this event. Sign up early and by the deadline or you might miss it. There are 2 other events that you might want to mark your calendar to attend: Saturday, August 15th the Beach Bash at the Doubletree on North Redington Beach and the Holiday Party on Saturday, December 5th also returning to the Doubletree. The Doubletree has also provided a room block for the August 15th event – the group code is FLO – Gulf view rooms are $124 and regular rooms are $99.00. This group code is only good until July 15th. UNIVERSAL/ISLANDS OF ADVENTURE Tickets TICKET POLICY A Club member may purchase one ticket for him/herself, one guest and tickets for the member's dependent children under the age of 18, or two non-dependent children under the age of 18, at Club member's price. In the event the member cannot attend due to work or illness, the spouse may attend without the member. It is the Club's policy to hold all requests for tickets for two weeks before filling to allow for mail delivery. If the requests for tickets received during the first two weeks are more than we have available, it is our policy to hold a lottery of the ticket requests received during the first two weeks.
